First Graders Learn about Community Leaders

First-graders at Joseph M. Carkenord Elementary School are learning about community leaders first-hand through visitors to their classroom.  On Thursday, Oct. 2, Ron Goss, the director of the John R. Armstrong Performing Arts Center and a  firefighter for Lenox Township, will discuss his role outside of L’Anse Creuse with the first-graders.  Students will also be able to tour a fire truck during the visit from 1-2 p.m.  For more information, contact teacher Janel Lentine at lentija@lc-ps.org or at 586-493-5230.  Carkenord Elementary School is located at 27100 Twenty-Four Mile Road.
