Midwest Pick-A-Project 

Please choose one of the following projects to be turned in on 3/17/08

Create a menu using foods and crops found in the Middle West and prepare one of the foods on the menu for the class.
Make a poster or report about Pioneer life or traveling by Wagon Train
Write a report or make a poster about a famous historical person or tourist site from the Middle West.
Research Open-Pit Mining and make a report or poster sharing the information you learned.
Research a Native American tribe found in the Middle West and write a report or make a poster about their daily life (page 281 lists tribes to research)
Research the Assembly Line or the Model T and make a poster or report on one of them.
Make a poster or report on the Great Lakes and their importance to the Middle West region.
Make a poster showing and explaining how farming has changed as new farming technology is developed.
Write a report or make a poster describing the types of crops grown in the Middle West.
Create an ABC book about the Middle West Region.  You must color each page and write at least one sentence for each page. 
Make a poster or write a report about a Skyscraper or Bridge located in the Middle West.
 Pick a state from the Middle West and make a poster or brochure advertising information about the state, inviting visitors to come and visit.

All Projects must have the following:
Name, Number, Date
Accurate information about the Middle West
Information used must be summarized written or typed using the student’s vocabulary (no cutting, pasting and printing info from websites and gluing it on the poster) (Pictures are okay to use)
List all websites and books used to complete the project.  Include the authors of the books and underline the titles.
Example: Sources used were www.wowinfo.com, Our Country’s Regions published by Macmillan/McGraw-Hill, and The Saint Louis Arch written by John Smith
