Mrs. Kelley Gorman

Welcome to kindergarten! 

Thank you for visiting  my web page.  I would like to tell you a little about my background.  My name is Kelley Gorman and I will teaching A.M. and P.M. kindergarten this year .  This is my third year teaching kindergarten for L’Anse Creuse Public Schools at Atwood Elementary.  I grew up in St. Clair Shores and gratudated from Regina High School in 1998.  I then moved on to Wayne State University where I graduated in 2004 with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education and an Early Childhood ZA Endorsement.  I did my student teaching here at Atwood in a 2/3 split in September of 2004.  I was lucky enough to be able to come back for a long-term sub position from March through June of that year.  I have also had experience teaching kindergarten in Troy and preschool in Detroit during my student teaching.  I am currently working on my Masters Degree in Reading and Language Arts from Oakland University.  I am very excited to be back at Atwood again this year and expect to have a wonderful year!

I am the middle child in my family with two older brothers and a younger sister.  We are very close and love spending time together.  Last summer my family was very busy with both my brother and I getting married just four weeks apart.  Yes, my parents did go a little crazy, but we had so much fun.  I was the last of the four so now my parents have an empty house and I feel very lucky to have such great additions into our family.  I do have one nephew who I love more than anything and is completly spoiled rotten.

I am currently living in Royal Oak.  My husband and I are very busy around our house spending  most weekends working on "projects".  When we are not busy with the house I enjoy kickboxing, camping, traveling, and spending time with my family and friends.  I have been kickboxing at Purple Dragon Studio for seven years and am a certified instructor.  I also have an orange belt in karate so maybe one day I will get my black belt!!
