All About Me!

I grew up in Macomb Township, Michigan.  I come from a family of five, an older sister, a younger brother and two outstanding parents.  I owe many of my opportunities for success to my parents.  They have given me the chance to accomplish my dreams.  After graduating from L’Anse Creuse High School North, I moved up to Mt. Pleasant to attend Central Michigan University to pursue a degree in Elementary Education.  While attending classes, I committed myself to CMU cheerleading.  Being a college cheerleader was one of the most amazing experiences of my life.  I met many people who became life-long friends and I developed exceptional leadership skills.  One of my greatest college memories is traveling to the University of Utah with the basketball team for the NCAA tournament in 2003!  We even made it to the second round!  I will never forget it.

Upon leaving many memories in Mt. Pleasant, I migrated back home to Macomb Township to complete my student teaching.  I was excited to find out that I would complete my student teaching in L’Anse Creuse, at the very same school I once attended as a student, Atwood Elementary!  My cooperating teacher was Ms. Adamski, 4th Grade.  It was a wonderful experience.  After student teaching I graduated from CMU in May 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a major in Science and a minor in History.                       

I've been subbing in the district since the winter of 2005 and full-time teaching in the district since the fall of 2005.  I love it!  L'Anse Creuse is a fantastic district.  Teaching is one of my tresured passions.  It is a big part of my life. 

Currently, I am continuing my education at Saginaw Valley State University, where I will receive a Master of Arts in Teaching Special Education.  In my free time (which I have very little of) I like to be with my fiancee, family and friends.  We frequently travel to our family's cottage on Seacord Lake near West Branch, Michigan.  We enjoy boating, jet skiing, swimming and ice cream eating!  I look forward to meeting all of you.
