Setting Up a Free Email Account

There are a number of sites that provide free email accounts. It really doesn’t make sense to pay for this type of service with so many providers offering it at no cost. Many people use these accounts as an additional email account.  Here are a few I have used and would suggest, www.Yahoo.com  www.Hotmail.com  or www.Lycos.com my personal favorite is Yahoo because their service is quick and easy.

You can sign up for your free email account by clicking on one of the links above.  Each service has a different process, but all of them will take you through step-by-step instructions. For example, if you click on the www.Yahoo.com link it will open to the Yahoo home page.  Once you’re on the Yahoo home page, click on the small icon (picture) of the envelope at the top of the page with the word “mail” under it. The Yahoo mail page will open and you will need to click on “New to Yahoo”.  Click on the link  “Get a free Yahoo mail account.” Click on the “learn more” link. Read the information to find out what the provider is offering you.  Now click the link that says “Sign Up Now”

This will be your last step to setting up your free email account. Fill in all the information needed. (Fields marked with an asterisk * are required fields.)  Last you will need to review the terms of the service by clicking on “I Agree”. If there is another user with the same password or user name, the provider will let you know.  You will then be asked to choose a different one until you find one that is unique to you.

Once this is complete, you will be ready to send and receive emails from friends and family members.  This is a great tool for communicating electronically.
