Early Graduation
A student who, for educational and vocational reasons, wishes to graduate from high school in fewer than eight semesters in the grades 9-12 sequence may request special permission for early graduation. The student and parent(s) shall consult with high school administrative and/or guidance personnel in order to develop a graduation plan.
The student shall request in writing to the building principal permission for early graduation with reasons supporting his/her plan and request. Examples of reasons to be given consideration are:
- Hardship circumstance
- Vocational opportunities
- Enlistment in the military occupations
- Pursuit of a specialized education objective
- College entrance and matriculation
All written requests for early graduation must be submitted to the building principal no later than December 1 of the school year they wish to graduate.
