    Yahoo! Babel Fish provides free online text and web page language translation tools for a variety of languages!

 

  • Little Explorers Dictionary: http://www.enchantedlearning.com/Dictionary.html
    Available in a variety of languages, The LITTLE EXPLORERSTM picture dictionary makes surfing the Internet very easy. A picture-dictionary format is used to link to hundreds of carefully-chosen child-friendly sites around the world.

 

  • ReadPlease:  http://www.readplease.com/
    This free, downloadable text-to-speech program allows users to copy and paste text from any website or online article to have the text read aloud.  (To download, click on the “ReadPlease 2003 Free” green hyperlink.)

 

  • Starfall:  http://www.starfall.com/
    This animated, fully interactive website with audio teaches even the youngest children to read.  Broken down in to four different levels, Starfall begins with basic letter sounds and with each level, gradually progresses to more difficult text. 

 

  • World Book Encyclopedia: http://www.worldbookonline.com
    Designed to make reference resources and research tools accessible at all learning levels, World Book Web delivers an informational collection to cover the needs of students from grade school to grad school in both English and Spanish.
