School Report Cards Released

As the newspapers and news stations have reported, the long awaited Education YES! Report Cards have been released. Education YES! is the state’s new school accreditation system that was developed in response to No Child Left Behind.

Each school’s final letter grade is a composite of the following: student achievement as measured by the MEAP, improvement in student achievement over time, and school performance as determined by the building’s self-assessment instrument. MEAP status and change constitutes 67% of the grade. The Education YES! Report Cards can be found at www.michigan.gov/mde.

Clearly, as with any new initiative, it will take time to interpret the results and to plan accordingly. As a district, we can celebrate the successes reflected in our performance and use what we learn through analysis of the data to strengthen and support the excellence our community has come to expect in L’Anse Creuse Public Schools.
