Designing Your Future in the Visual Arts

Do you fancy a career in the world of art? Do you want to be a sculptor or fabric specialist or a commercial illustrator? Perhaps you just like to draw or paint, or perhaps you desire a more technical challenge such as digital photo retouching or web designing. The information below will provide you with detailed information about the Fine Arts and Visual Communications and their career opportunities. From Doodler to Designer, all positions require varied abilities, skills, and educational preparation.

In reviewing this information and working with your high school and vocational art staff, you will gain an understanding of the Fine Arts and Visual Communications career. Think about your interests and skills, related experiences you’ve had, and which high school and vocational art courses you can take to provide a strong foundation for a two or four year college degree, or an entry level position into the art industry.

If this is what you see yourself doing in the future, then contact your art staff, school counselor or educational & career resource representative, and have them assist you in the right choices for the pathway of your dreams!
