Board Member Paints Cover of Book

L’Anse Creuse Public Schools Board of Education secretary, Ken Hoover, painted the cover artwork for a high school friend’s book titled Roots of a Priest. The novel by Ken Bowers and John Frochio was published in October 2007 and is available at www.amazon.com and bookstores.  Hoover formerly taught art at L’Anse Creuse High School.

Sheriff Mark Hackel will be the keynote speaker at the Community Action Coalition’s Dialogue Day Jan. 31 at Trinity Lutheran Church Community Center.  This year’s event topic is Youth and Adults: Moving toward Excellence.  Dialogue Day brings together adults from the community with youth from the L’Anse Creuse high schools and middle schools along with students from Trinity Lutheran to explore topics relevant to improving the future of our community.  Small groups discuss topics such as transitions, Internet safety, safety and conflict, family life and communication, and more and report back to the larger session.   Dialogue Day runs from 8:30 a.m. 1:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church Community Center at 38900 Harper in Clinton Township.  For more information, contact Kerry Quick at 586-493-5260 ext. 1119.
