L’Anse Creuse News Briefs
The L’Anse Creuse Foundation, a nonprofit organization created to generate and distribute financial and other resources to L’Anse Creuse Public Schools’ students for enrichment programs and other projects aimed at enhancing their educational opportunities, will be funding an after-school activity bus to provide students transportation home following tutoring sessions instituted to help students meet tough new curriculum requirements. The tutoring sessions will be offered on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 2:30-4:30 p.m. beginning Oct. 2 at both high schools.
“The new high school graduation requirements double our required math credits and add credits to English and science, said Dr. Keith Wunderlich, assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction. There is very little room for electives. We need to ensure that students are successful the first time they take a class. To help students succeed, we have started to implement after-school support classes in mathematics and English. Now when we say success for all students, all really means all.
