Teresa (Teri) R. Taggart

Personal: Three children. Board member since 1997; Community resident since 1995.
Why did you run for the school Board? To join my collaborative efforts with the existing Board members for the betterment of all students.
Offices held:
Goals as a Board member: To make sure we uphold the highest educational standards LCPS is recognized/awarded for; to maintain challenging curriculums that meet the needs of all learners and to make sure every student graduating from LCPS is equipped to lead a productive and prosperous life.
Areas of concerns for the district in the next five years:
- Increased class size, decreased spaces -- How do we accommodate increased population?
- Increased mandates, decreased funding-- How do we do more for less money?
- NCLB alignment with our existing school programs
Additional comments: "We have been faced with economic/academic challenges before and LCPS met the bar and raised it! We will, again, if the creativity and vision of our staff is utilized to its fullest capacity. Our student needs are of utmost priority and with team effort, the students will continue to succeed.
